A WINDOW-RATTLING FUZZ CANNON

Heavy Peaches is based on the earliest 2-transistor silicon circuits, with gobs of thick fuzz and a selectable high pass filter.  

INSPIRATION:  We researched vintage built-in amp and guitar fuzz modules originally designed for silicon that naturally bias warmer (higher voltage), so that they aren't gated or sputtery.  This under-appreciated  version of the 2-transistor fuzzes is modernized and modified for a heavy, yet smooth dirt machine!

CIRCUIT SCIENCE:  The fuzz intensity set just below max gives a full-tilt raging attack without excessive noise or oscillations.  The selectable high pass filter affects the pre-fuzz signal and removes some lower frequency content when engaged.  Strategic low pass filtering removes unwanted noise and AM radio from the signal.

SOUND:  From a heavy, sustaining fuzz to a brighter, more vintage fuzz with the flick of a toggle.  Heavy Peaches cleans up to a crunchy drive by using your guitar volume knob, and the filter toggle will make this effect more dramatic when engaged. Single coils and your volume knob are just right for blues riffs with a raspy, spitty edge.  Humbuckers with the high pass filter off yield wall-of-sound, boomy power chords that will make your neighbors cheer!  Ok, maybe not cheer, but keep practicing until they do!

PLEASE NOTE:  To get the strongest cleanup effect with guitar volume, place heavy peaches before any buffered effects.  

VERSION HISTORY:  This is the 3rd version of heavy peaches, now using dual 2n2222A transistors and miniaturized for maximum pedalboard space.
